Taking stock of what I have....
It's gotten to the point that I am starting to lose count and focus of what I have and what I need to work on...sigh...this past T-giving weekend, I ran a couple of introductory games...and had problems finding the right pieces of terrain...
So I've decided to actually get an inventory of some sorts down on paper.
Thanks to Excel, I now had a 5 sheet excel workbook going on my 15mm Moderns.
I'm starting with my 15mm Moderns and currently am just working on the "painted and ready to play stuff"...
Sheet 1: is figures, # of bases and # of figs : 204 stands, 472 figs...
Sheet 2: is vehicles, (ground and military): 131 including 40+ civilian vehicles...
Sheet 3: is aircraft and watercraft; 15 aircraft, 3 boats...
Sheet 4: is buildings: TBD
Sheet 5: is scenery: The misc little pieces that I have, (fences, signs, billboards, etc...): TBD
The eventual goal is to get all of the stuff on the inventory. For buildings I will number them on the base and have a photo of each.
After this, will come a list of the "UNPAINTED" 15mm Moderns. This will give me an idea of my "mountain of lead", and what needs to be done...
Years from now after I regain my sanity, I will continue this project with my 15mm ACW, and my 20mm Vietnam, and my 25-28mm, Pulp, Cowboys, Pirates, Horror, Fantasy, and Colonials...
It will make me cry, but it will give me an idea of what I have....
And then I will cry even more...

AIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
or
"From Gameroom to Garage..."
"Let this be a lesson boys...
Whenever you should roam...
Let this be a lesson lads...
When you leave your toys alone..."
It amazed me.
How they did it.
So quickly, efficiently, and sneakily...
Yes..sneaky.
The plan started out weekend before last with the idea of us "cleaning and straightening out the garage...
True, it was a mess...and needed mucho work.
And Menards had shelving on sale.
"This is the perfect weekend to straighten up the garage!" said the lady.
So I nodded and sighed.
And we began to work on "the mess"...

A long, overdue update....
I will just instead slap this blurb up and follow up with seperate entries to get more detail or else it would be information overload for a lot of folks and one uber long blog.
On the gaming front:
1: I didn't make it to Origins, and had to cancel my game. "Real Life" kicked in.
2: I made it to Gencon, and took pics, and played a bad FoW demo in which my opponent openly cheated, and the demo was essentially, "Lets see how quickly the Germans can kick the British butts..."
3: Uber thrilled that Rebel Minis released a "Bongolesia" supplement for their "Modern Havok" rules.
4: Havent done much in the realm of gaming, building or painting as my paint table etc, is all crammed in my office right now...due to my daughter now living in my game room.
Real Life:
1: Mostly unemployed.
2: Mostly broke.
3: Buried my dad (stepfather), but he was more of my father to me than my real dad.
4: Went to Virginia and realized that I'm not really part of the family.
5: Did the Conner Prairie reenactment in May and messed up my knee.
6: Have my daughter and her boyfriend move into our house from Louisiana, (Lost the game room), and now boyfriend has skipped out.
And on that part, I think I shall close this, and then start the eventual updating entries...
Wish me luck folks...
More to come...I'm sure of it....

An award, and some stuff I've built!
First off, I'm registered to run a Bongolesian Themed Game at Origins 2011 this year in Columbus Ohio. It's a late night game called "Coup Coup Ka'choo!" and there will be prizes award to the winning player.
Because of this I've been busy as all, building stuff for Bongolesia, including beaches, airport towers, The Presidential Palce, and more...
And imagine my surprise when I found out that my Bongolesia Blog got awarded "The Stylish Blogger Award!"
http://bongolesia.blogspot.com
Yeps I'm proud.
You can also cruise quickly to the site and see my construction efforts. I am going to be posting them here later on, because I want to get more done and up.

The Rattlehead is complete! (and other things being worked on)...
The Rattlehead is a medium sized cargo ship built in the late 1940's in a Soviet shipyard on The Black Sea. The basic ship structure and setup is (in true Soviet tradition), copied from the US "Liberty Ship" design.
She was launched in Sept. 1950, and upon launch struck a large rock, damaging the rudder. Relaunched in Jan. 1951, she was soon plying her trade to Soviet Ports along The Black Sea.
Over the years she has been damaged significantly, including hitting a rogue WWII naval mine in the Mediterranean in 1958, (which resulted in a large massive steel "patch" upon her bow), and various other "dings and dents".
In 1991 she was sold by the Russian Govt. to the Kizzov Shipping and Exports Corporation (Headquartered and ported out of Odessa Ukraine).
She underwent engine and electronics modifications and soon put to sea.
She currently plies the sea routs along Africa, The Suez, The Med, and The Black Sea, delivering a large and wide variety of "goods and cargo", (Much of it suspsect, but due to internatioanal regulations cannot be verified.)
She is a frequent cargo deliverer to Port Tuziak and the Ports in the Capital City of Sudekia, in the nation of Bongolesia. Lately she has come under suspicion of carrying out illegal arms shipments to various factions along the African coast, and to the Bongolesian Govt.
Here's the boat, when she's not in the water...
She currently takes up almost one complete shelf of my bookshelf...She'll have to be move eventually....In this pic, you can see the wear and tear on her...
As with these pics. While she has seen better days, she is still capable of making the delivery...and for a nice affordable price too. It's rumored that she is used quite a bit by "Honest Abdul" ("The Shoppers Friend!") when he is "importing goods" to his Emporium...
With the national flag in the background...kind of puts a lump in your throat doesn't it...btw...Don't ask about the rust stains....
Besides the ship, I've come close to finishing up on the airport control tower building. Here it is in it's final stages of completion.
It's built in a "futuristic Soviet style" from the late 1960's and early 1970's when Soviet influence in the country was at it's highest.
Here's showing it to scale along with a 15mm JR ruin, and some 15mm PP vehicles...

Busy on a snowy day!
Yes...the "Skull and Bones" SNUGGIE that was given to her as a Christmas present by His Excellency, President-For-Life P'hat Daddee B'wonah of Bongolesia... (interested readers wanting to know more, can click this link right here... http://bongolesia.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-in-bongolesiaoh-dear.html )
I think she likes B'wonah more than she wants to admit now...
Although I must say, that the idea of skulls and bones on a Snuggie is "so B'wonah", and ummm....kind of disturbing....
Sooooo....with snow coming down, it's time for me to head for the project table!!!
Can't forget the coffee...and believe it or not, the tube of Green Putty on the table is approximately 20+ years old...; and still going strong....
My main projects of the day, 2 BTR-152's, some technicals, some GAZ trucks, a bridge, (The spider is not on the "to do list" today....)....
But first I put together my Paintier 80...
It's a nice paint holder...it works better with my GW, Reaper, and old Ral Partha paints over my Vallejos. I really wish I had been able to get one of the racks from Silicone Dragons before they went goofy and closed doors, (ie: Became a bad dealer)....
The rack with paints on it...very nice...I'd like some more of these in the future!
Currently (as 0f 17:15) I have done the following:
1: Finished ALL major painting on my cargo tramp steamer.
2: Named by small coastal trawler, (more on that in the near future).
3: Painted the airport control tower.
4: Primed the Presidential Palace.
5: Painted the bridge base colors.
6: Base coated the BTR's, the technicals, Jeeps and Land Rovers.
7: Drank some coffee and realized that I need some more music on my Iphone/Ipod thingy...
8: I also made a case holder for my fixed wing aircraft....
Things are coming along quite nicely and I hope to get more done tomorrow. I've a lot to do before Origins and after this bunch is done, I've got to get to work on the US Marines....
More pics to follow, but right now, we have hot pizza on the way, and will be watching "The Evil Dead" tonight. What a GREAT way to spend a snow day!!!!

Southern Victory at Mitchellville!
"Yes sir!" He saluted and ran out of the parlor and outside. Already I could hear the drums and bugles sounding "Call To Arms". The shouts of men and the sounds of an army preparing for battle began to be noticeable.
"Sir. I would advise you to please take your family down into the cellar and wait until this is over. If you do not, I cannot guarantee the safety of your family."
Confederate Troops encamped around Mitchellville...
The campfires are cooking, bacon, and johnny cakes...black coffee, and the smell of woodsmoke in the chilly morning air...
More Yankee Infantry...a full brigades worth, coming straight at us! They mean business. This is no skirmish...it's a full scale attack!
Yankee infantry and artillery coming into view...we are outnumbered...can these raw troops hold them off, or will they break and run?
Suddenly from the far end of town, a cloud of dust and the sound of hooves....Our cavalry has arrived!!!
Gallant cavaliers in grey, riding hard towards the enemy...
They suddenly whirl off the road and between the woods to cover the right flank. Their commander knows that he is doing...the clattering sound of the horse artillery gun attached to them joins in as the limber bounces along down and off the rutted road and onto the field...
"Get the regiments formed! Line of battle!" I say to Captain Hugh. I can see him lick his lips and know he is unable to find words as a fountain of emotions run through him; anticipation, excitement, fear...He nods and rides off...
A 12lb gun prepares to greet the oncoming Yankees...
The Yankee infantry had deployed in a full frontal attack upon our outumbered troops. We had no men on the flank to hold them. The cavalry commander dismounted half of his troopers and unlimbered the gun, while the other half rode hard to the flank, and in a moment of dash, drew sabers, and pistols and charged!
Hell for leather they charge across the open field towards the first regiment, (Rhode Islanders I do believe by their state colors)...
In a swirling mad dash of elan and flashing sabers, the Confederate cavalry slams into the Rhode Islanders. The infantry is able to get a decent volley from their musket dropping men and horse alike but not enough to break up the charge..for a moment the field is caught up in the maddening melee frenzy....behind the Rhode Islanders, the other two Union Regiments hold back, unsure of wanting to get involved in the bloody confused mess ahead of them...
Meanwhile the center line prepares...."Steady boys!" Captain Hugh says, but he can see the fear in the faces of them...as they watch the Union infantry move closer towards them....
Suddenly the Yankee artillery fires and a 12lb shell plows into the front of the regiment...a few men fall dead, more fall wounded...the explosion shakes and dissolved what little nerve and fighting mettle this unit was able to muster. They suddenly break and rout for the rear...
I have one regiment of infantry, a shattered cavalry unit, and 2 batteries of artillery to hold off over a brigade of yankee troops...
"Captain! Rally those men!" I cry to him...and I see him ride off in helpless pursuit...he attempts to rally but they will have nothing of it...off the field of battle they go....
And yet...at the same time...onto the field of battle comes two more regiments....Reinforcements!!!!
Meanwhile the 12lb batteries are exchanging artillery fire with the Union guns...shells are exploding all around, and both men and horses go down screaming. Guns take hits, and the battery suffers but they hold their ground and give just as good as they get...
The infantry take over from the recently routed Cavalry dismounts...
A side shot of the battlefield...The final grand charge of the Union infantry. A brigade in lines, Regulars, State troops, Zouaves, pushing towards us...determined as they can be...
"Sir..." He croaked out.
All in all....a great game, with a great friend and a good way to end the New Year!
